According to WikiAnswers, the 7-year itch is the point when couple’s tend to re-evaluate their relationship. When my husband and I were still dating, it was after the 7th year that we decided that it was time to settle down…with much trepidation. To be honest, I had some hesitations. I guess he did too, but we braved the unknown and decided to go for it anyway. And so far so good.
7 years, 2 kids, and 20 pounds later, we are just as happy as when we started. Sure the giddiness is less but there are still those moments that get us all “kilig” and mushy. We may have grown up as a couple but we can still be like the “young once” that we were when we started out. Call me sappy, but we still hold hands and we still write each other romance filled cards. We still send each other useless text messages filled with hearts and kisses just because there isn’t anything important to say. And at the end of the day, we never fail to profess our undying (naks) love for each other that will take us from here to thy kingdom come. Yeah, mushy and I know most of you can’t believe that I’m capable of being filled with this much mush.
So after 7 years, 2 kids, and 20 pounds, we’re still at it. Strong as ever, and banishing that damn 7-year itch to hell. That is one itch that I’m not willing to scratch anytime soon.
