Everyone says that the Filipinos are some of the most musical people on earth. Being a Filipino, I can attest to that. You can never go anywhere here without hearing someone singing or humming. Establishments are never without some kind of music blaring from their PA systems. Events are never complete without some sort of musical performance. And parties…parties are never complete without somebody hogging the karaoke mic for a rendition of a fave ditty.
Here are a couple of pics from my musical countrymen…..
And because I happen to have a daughter who is…ahem….musically gifted. Here are some of her during her “Music and Movement” summer activity. This class aimed to teach young kids how to appreciate music in various forms. They were taught how to sing in various languages, move to different kinds of music and beats, and even how to play some simple instruments.

LOVE the second photo. My brothers used to do something like that, just with straws from McDonald’s….
It is marvelous that children learn music in school. Only rich children in my schools did… so needless to say I didn’t learn! Not until I was an adult.

I an also attest to that. Here in Thailand, I have so many Filipino friends who sang so well. Back in KL, most of the bands are also from the Phillipines. Have a great weekend. CY
