This week’s Weekly Question asks..
.

How would you like to spend your special day, your birthday?

.
Having just celebrated my 40th birthday a few weeks ago, this question is certainly very timely.
.
Months before the big day I had visions of organizing a party, going out of town, hiring a boat and going around Manila Bay. Its not every birthday that one gets to turn 40. In my mind, it had to be big. Grand even. However, on the week prior to my birthday I had to make an unscheduled trip out of town and that left me with no time to plan anything. Add to that a major typhoon hitting the country on my actual birthday really left me no choice but to keep things simple.
.
I celebrated my birthday quite simply. Surprisingly I wasn’t disappointed. It may have been a major milestone in my life, turning 40. And who better to enjoy it with but the people who matter most…my family. On that day, that was all that mattered. I was celebrating my big day in exactly the way I wanted and I will continue to do so in the coming years.
.
Still…a trip around the world doesn’t sound so bad.
