I once chanced upon this little girl walking in front of the house one late summer day. She was wearing an undershirt and an underwear plus a pair of pink flip flops. I immediately took two photos of her and this was one of them (the other photo she was standing up so I didn’t choose to upload because I thought it was a little indecent for a little girl) :

I want to know your thoughts about this photo. What can you say about this?

The first thing that comes to mind is “Bata, nasaan ang mga magulang mo?” (Kid, where are your parents?)

Being a parent myself, I know what it is like when my kids are not within my line of vision. My thoughts are always related to their safety and well being. Never in my wildest imagination will I allow them to be alone in the streets. Most especially in these times which aren’t exactly safe.

Whenever I see children on the streets I always find myself thinking that it is partly their parents’ fault that they’re there. No matter how hard life is, children are children. The streets aren’t their playground and they shouldn’t be allowed to find themselves there.
