Who ever said that a child is only beautiful in his/her mother’s eyes does not know the first thing about what beautiful is all about.

Children, in all shapes and sizes, color or race, age or gender, is beautiful.  Children are God’s gift to all parents and this, in itself, makes any child beautiful in anybody’s eyes.

Me, I think my kids are the most beautiful on earth.  I guess that goes for all mother’s.  The mere sight of my kids is enough to make my day.  Never mind that they can sometimes test my limits.  All they need to do is smile and look at me with their puppy dog eyes and I’m all jello inside.

At the recent Bisolvon Alagang Supermom event, the entire concept of beautiful kids was taken one step further.

They are holding a photo contest to showcase our kids.  To launch this contest, the wonderful folks of Bisolvon hosted a Mommy and Kids party at Marta’s at Serendra.  While the Mommies gathered to discuss the contest mechanics, the kids were busy decorating their very own Marta’s cupcakes and cookies.

The contest is open to all Filipino mothers and the winners stand to win some fantastic prizes.

Contest mechanics and information may be found at Bisolvon’s Alagang Supermom website.

Its been a year since that fateful day when my kids and I joined my beautiful Mommy blogger friends and their kids in what has been, by far, one of the most enjoyable blogger events yet. To this day I still hear my kids refer to that event and they always say it with a twinkle in their eyes and a longing to be able to do it again.

As a Mom who does not want to disappoint, I always say that we will go back.

And go back is exactly what we did….exactly a year after.

Yes, folks….Active Fun in S.M. North Edsa Annex has turned a year older. And to celebrate this milestone, we were once again invited by Active Fun to celebrate with them.

And because “Fun” is what Active Fun wants kids to have, it is holding a 2-day celebration to commemorate its birthday. From Aug. 18-19, Active Fun North Edsa will be making sure that everyone who enters its doors will come out smiling. For 3 glorious days, kids and kids-at-heart can join the party.

And if that wasn’t enough, they are also holding a contest where the winner stands to win an entire year of Free Play at Active Fun.

Who doesn’t want that? I know I do…that is if my kids don’t beat me.

Here is how to join :

A marathon? Yep, a marathon!

I know, I know…it is almost impossible to believe that someone like me who would most likely pack several patio chairs and watch the marathoners do their thing is actually thinking of joining.

Why? Well, firstly, its for an absolutely good cause. Second, I really need the exercise. Third, many of my Mommy blogger friends are going. And last and most importantly, my kids are invited too and that makes the event’s fun level go up a gazillion notches higher.

So for all you Mommies, Daddies and Kiddies out there….LEZGO!!

Thanks to the folks at Nuffnang, I was able to catch the premier of Unitel’s latest offering, “The Red Shoes.” The film opens in the midst of the chaos during the first People Power revolution. The lead character, Lucas, played by Marvin Agustin has in his possession, a pair of shoes taken from the vast collection of former First Lady Imelda Marcos. But the story does not revolve around those shoes and neither does it tackle the glory of the Filipino people during that turning point in our history.

The movie is a love story. It is a story of rising above the ashes of poverty. It is a story of a poor boy falling in love with a rich girl. And it is a story of losing love and finding hope.

Catch “The Red Shoes” at cinemas all over the metro. The movie stars Marvin Agustin, NIkki Gil, Liza Lorena, Tessie Tomas, Tirso Cruz III, Techie Agbayani, and Iwa Moto. The film was directed by Raul Jorolan.

Since the time I was 17 years old I’ve had size 9 feet. Humungous? Absolutely. In fact, I’ve always had trouble buying decent shoes here because my feet aren’t only big, they’re a bit wide as well. So to remedy that I would buy a lot of shoes whenever I would travel abroad. And I have relatives abroad who cater to my demands to buy me shoes and have them shipped home.

So with my size 9 feet I attended the ASICS Expo at the Condura Village a few weeks ago. I’ve been having these dreams of running but I’ve never really put in any running time yet. I was thinking, maybe if I attended this Expo I just might find that missing something to get me to start running.
