Beating The Flu Bug

We just got our flu shots yesterday…and when I say “we” I mean myself, the hubs and the kids. All of us vaccinated for flu and AH1N1.

This is the first time that we did this together as a family. Previously it was only the kids who would get shots. Then for the last 2 years I started getting vaccinated as well. And this year is the first year that the hubby got it. Actually, my husband was hesitant at first. Truth be told, he doesn’t like needles. He would rather get a colon cleanse than a shot. But after some convincing, he relented.

Until the next virus comes along….we’re pretty much covered.

Flu Shots

Early this week I received a much awaited text from our doctor. Flu shots are now available.

We make it a point to get flu shots as soon as they become available the reason being, they sometimes run out. This happened when there was an outbreak of AH1N1. Back then, I didn’t get a shot. Only the kids were vaccinated so you can imagine the panic. Even our pediatrician didn’t save a vial for herself so it was really that bad.

This time around, were going early. You’ll never know if some mysterious flu-like virus decides to sprout out of the depths of the earth to terrorize us all. Well, that’s just me and how I think…so don’t panic. Just get your flu shots early.
