Still No Refund
Its been a week since that botched deal I had with this notorious (now I know) deal site. To date, they still haven’t given me my refund.
I’m trying my hardest not to blow my top again. In fact, I haven’t written a single email to follow up my last request. Why? Because that will open up another can of worms and the volley of emails will repeat itself once again which, naturally, will get my blood boiling…which I don’t want to happen.
Lucky for them my mind has been rather preoccupied. Otherwise, I would be posting beautifully worded rants on their FB page in big glaring letters.
In the meantime, I decided to buy those same treatments but this time I bought it straight from the merchant. And it isn’t as expensive as I thought it would be. I got the same number of treatments for a little over what I paid from that no-good deal site.
Lesson learned, find out if these deals are as real as they claim to be. For all you know, the merchant behind the deal can offer you the same price without having to go through a groupon site.
I Want My Refund!
It is no secret that I’m a big fan of groupon sites. I have all my fave groupon sites bookmarked on my laptop and I have subscribed to their email updates so as not to miss out on any of those great deals. There is not one day that I don’t check.
To date, I’ve bought resto vouchers, spa vouchers, warts removal, facials, diamond peels, hotel stays, food vouchers, and slimming vouchers. I have yet to check out those electronics, house and home deals, and wheels for sale. They can’t be far behind, you know.
So far I have been quite happy with the deals that I have made. Except for that one vacation deal that I got and the hotel didn’t turn out as impressive as it did on the website. The silver lining was that my kids enjoyed the stay so I let that pass.
I was on a winning streak until this weekend. I bought several vouchers from Metrodeal for a slimming deal that would compliment the previous slimming deal that I got several months ago. Supposedly, these 2 treatments go hand in hand to produce better results. Great!! Without thinking twice, I was emptying my Paypal account to buy those 2nd set of vouchers. As soon as I got the confirmation that my purchase went through, I immediately called the number of the slimming center to make my appointments. I was informed that the center that I was planning to visit was already closed. Moratorium…Empty Wallet
I just checked my Paypal funds…and…zilch!
Yup, I have successfully emptied my Paypal wallet. And the culprit, those darn online coupon sites. This is not counting the coupons I bought using my credit card, ok. Its that bad.
Problem with me is that I’m totally addicted to those sites. I have bookmarked favorite buying sites and I check them regularly. Think…everyday. And to think I’ve only bought coupons for derma services, spa services, food, and vacations. Although, I’ve had my eye on those coupons offering cameras, phone accessories (a new Iphone or motorola case maybe), and concert tickets.
GAAAAHHHH!!!!
But because my Paypal funds are depleted, enough!! For now, that is. *insert smiley face*
Online Shopping made Easy
I’m a groupon junky. I’ll be the very first to admit that I scour all the local groupon sites daily to see if there are good deals.
I’ve always been a sucker for anything on sale. And I learned about coupons while on a 2-month vacation in the US when I was a teenager. I remember scouring the Sunday newspaper for deals and cutting out coupons for almost anything. While my hosts (an aunt) deplored the Sunday paper because it was so voluminous, I loved it. I loved the catalogues that came with it. Grocery coupons, drugstore coupons, Target coupons, you name it, I probably cut it out.
Now that groupon shopping is the “in” thing to do, I am so in the bandwagon. I have a brown envelope stuffed with the deals I have availed of. Facial treatments, massages, restos, foot spas, hotels, etc etc etc. I actually have to stop myself sometimes or I’d rack up a ginormous credit card bill if I don’t.
Oh wait…I think I just saw a deal on music lessons!!!
